πŸ‘‹πŸŒ Hello from Romania! Meet Grupa Mare “UrsuleΘ›ii”

Our project journey has begun! For the Project Introduction and Getting to Know Each Other activity, we prepared a short video presenting our country, our town and our kindergarten. πŸ‡·πŸ‡΄ Our country: Romania, a land of mountains, forests, the Danube and the Black Sea, with colourful traditions and warm people. πŸ™️ Our town: Voluntari, in Ilfov County, right next to Bucharest, our capital city. 🏫 Our school: Școala GimnazialΔƒ Nr. 3 Voluntari, where 27 curious and joyful “UrsuleΘ›i” (Little Bears) aged 5–6 learn, play and discover the world together. 🐻 The children were very excited to know that friends from other countries will see their work, and that we will meet our partners’ kindergartens too. Our video joins the other partners’ contributions in a common Prezi presentation , a small map of our new international project family. πŸ€πŸ’š πŸ‘‰ Discover all our partners here: https://prezi.com/view/LC8c8bXGvEKfPHaelXuZ/?referral_token=jUCEIulnB3FN Different countries, one bi...

πŸ”⚡ Energy Detectives – Our Code Week Adventure! – Grupa Mare “UrsuleΘ›ii”, Romania

Image
During EU Code Week , our little UrsuleΘ›ii became Energy Detectives ! Their mission: find the devices that were wasting energy and “switch them off” using code . We started by remembering what we already know: lights, tablets, computers and smart boards use energy, and when we leave them on for nothing, we waste it. πŸ’‘πŸ”Œ Then the detective work began, completely unplugged : 🧭 Each detective had to reach a “forgotten” device on the grid: a lamp left on, a sleeping tablet, a charger still plugged in. ➡️⬆️⬅️ Children planned the route step by step using arrow codes and gave instructions to their friends, who moved like little robots. ❌ When the code was wrong, the detectives had to find the bug and fix it. They learned that mistakes are part of coding! ✅ When the detective reached the device, the mission was complete: Switch OFF! Working in teams, the children practised sequencing, directions, counting steps, logical thinking and debugging , while learning how to save ene...

🌳 Our Digital Carbon Tree – Grupa Mare “UrsuleΘ›ii”, Romania

Image
This week our little UrsuleΘ›ii joined the collaborative activity Digital Carbon Tree , proposed by our partner Nurten Telli-Davultepe from TΓΌrkiye. We started with a simple conversation: Did you know that tablets, computers, TVs and smart boards use energy when they are on? The children found out that making energy can affect nature. So we can help our planet by using technology wisely , not by giving it up. Together we talked about small things we can all do: πŸ’‘ turn off the lights when we leave a room πŸ“± switch off tablets, computers and the smart board when we don’t need them πŸ”Œ unplug chargers when the device is full ☀️ use natural light whenever we can 🎬 watch only the videos we really need Then it was time to create! The children worked together and drew their eco-friendly digital habits: hands pressing the “off” button, a sun replacing the lamp, sleeping tablets, happy trees and a smiling Earth. Each drawing became a leaf of our tree. Leaf by leaf, our Digital Carbon...

Energy Hunters at Școala GimnazialΔƒ Nr. 3 Voluntari πŸ”‹πŸŸ’πŸ”΄

Image
Energy Hunters at Școala GimnazialΔƒ Nr. 3 Voluntari πŸ”‹πŸŸ’πŸ”΄ We visited other groups in our kindergarten and became Energy Hunters together! The children looked at everyday situations and discussed how we use energy at home and at school. For each situation they decided: is it wise energy use (GREEN) or energy waste (RED)? Then we went hunting around our classrooms. We found lights left on in empty rooms, open windows while the heating was on, and devices still plugged in. We also found good examples, like daylight instead of lamps. Even the youngest children knew where to put the green and red cards and explained why. Small hunters, big ideas: saving energy starts with us! πŸ’‘πŸŒ

Maria Perttula, 21st Preschool of Patras, Greece - Hello from Greece

Image
Hello! My town, Patras is located in western Greece, serving as the capital of the Achaia region and the northern Peloponnese. Situated roughly 215 km   west of Athens, it lies on the Gulf of Patras, a branch of the Ionian Sea, making it a major port and "western gateway" to the country. Our school's vision is to create a modern school unit that responds to the new educational needs and challenges of the 21st century, aiming for the overall improvement of the quality of education provided. We want to explore different cultural and educational environments, acquire innovative teaching methods and strategies, and build friendships with colleagues from other European countries.  We are an accredited school (Erasmus+ KA122-SCH 2025-2027). This school year I've got 21 students.

πŸ”Ž Our First Questionnaire – Where Do We Start?

πŸ”Ž Our First Questionnaire – Where Do We Start? As part of our Digital Footprint Detectives project, the children from the „UrsuleΘ›ii” group completed their first questionnaire about the digital world. πŸ’»πŸ§Έ The questionnaire helped us discover what the children already know and understand about using digital devices and about the concept of a digital footprint . Our first findings showed that the children are not yet familiar with the meaning of “digital footprint” . This is not surprising at their age, but it gave us an important starting point for our learning journey. 🌱 What was especially encouraging was their curiosity and enthusiasm to learn . The children were interested in discovering what a digital footprint is, how our actions in the digital world can leave traces, and how we can use technology in a safe and responsible way. πŸŒπŸ’™ This first questionnaire is our starting point . From here, we will continue to explore, ask questions, play and learn together, step by st...

πŸ•΅️‍♀️πŸ”Ž Digital Footprint Detectives – Learning Through Play

Image
πŸ•΅️‍♀️πŸ”Ž Digital Footprint Detectives – Learning Through Play As part of the Digital Footprint Detectives project, the preschoolers from the „UrsuleΘ›ii” group took part in a fun and interactive card matching game – “My Digital World” . πŸ’»πŸŒˆ Through play, the children explored different digital habits and learned to recognize the healthy choices that can help them use technology in a safe and balanced way. The children turned over two cards at a time and tried to find the pairs that belonged together: one card showed a digital habit, while the other showed the corresponding healthy choice. πŸƒπŸ” They enjoyed discovering the five matching pairs and discussing the choices illustrated on the cards. This playful activity encouraged the children to think, make connections, communicate their ideas and take their first steps towards becoming responsible and mindful digital citizens . πŸŒπŸ’™ Learning about our digital world can be fun when we learn, play and discover together! 🧸✨

πŸ•΅️‍♀️πŸ” Becoming Digital Footprint Detectives!

Image
πŸ•΅️‍♀️πŸ” Becoming Digital Footprint Detectives! Our little learners stepped into the exciting world of technology and became Digital Footprint Detectives! πŸ¦‰πŸ’»πŸ”Ž Through a playful and age-appropriate activity, our preschoolers explored the digital devices that are part of our everyday lives — phones, tablets, computers and televisions. They discovered what these devices can help us do: communicate with people we love, learn new things, enjoy stories, solve puzzles and explore fascinating worlds. πŸ“±πŸ’»πŸ“Ί✨ But being a Digital Footprint Detective means more than simply knowing how to use a device. It means learning to make thoughtful choices about our digital world . πŸŒπŸ’š Together, we talked about screen time , why our eyes and brains need breaks, and why choosing age-appropriate games, stories and videos is important. We also discovered that the greatest adventures can happen away from the screen — playing outside, building, drawing, running and enjoying real-life experiences with...
