🔍⚡ Energy Detectives – Our Code Week Adventure! – Grupa Mare “Ursuleții”, Romania

 

During EU Code Week, our little Ursuleții became Energy Detectives! Their mission: find the devices that were wasting energy and “switch them off” using code.

We started by remembering what we already know: lights, tablets, computers and smart boards use energy, and when we leave them on for nothing, we waste it. 💡🔌

Then the detective work began, completely unplugged:
🧭 Each detective had to reach a “forgotten” device on the grid: a lamp left on, a sleeping tablet, a charger still plugged in.
➡️⬆️⬅️ Children planned the route step by step using arrow codes and gave instructions to their friends, who moved like little robots.
❌ When the code was wrong, the detectives had to find the bug and fix it. They learned that mistakes are part of coding!
✅ When the detective reached the device, the mission was complete: Switch OFF!

Working in teams, the children practised sequencing, directions, counting steps, logical thinking and debugging, while learning how to save energy in everyday life. 🌍💚

They discovered that a code is a set of clear instructions and that, just like a good detective, a good programmer thinks before acting!
